Books

 Hump or Two?

Tales from the Boot Camps
Steve Claridge

No Leicester fan will ever forget that moment when time stood still at Wembley in 1996, as 'Super' Stevie Claridge's shinned shot nestled into the corner of the net. That moment, and his winning goal in the Coca Cola were the highlights of a career which started with non league Fareham town in 1983. Thirteen years and ten clubs later he finally reached the premiership with Leicester, but the best parts of this book are when he tells us of his time in the lower leagues. Of how he went unpaid for weeks at Aldershot, of his battles with John Beck at Cambridge, and his gambling problems. The new version is released on 12th October 2000.

Gary Lineker's Favourite Football Stories

We all know the boy Lineker done great, so when he puts his name to a collection of childrens stories they're bound to be of the highest quality aren't they?  OK, I've not read them so I've no idea if they're any good, but they're cheap stocking fillers for football mad kids, so why not buy all three volumes?

Fever Pitch

This autobiographical account of an Arsenal supporter growing up is widely regarded as one of the best football books ever written.  If you knew nothing about football, this would tell you of the passion, the obsession, the highs and lows far better than any reference book ever could.
